Delay is the stratagem of choice when faced with a non-judicial foreclosure in the state of California. Most of the individuals being foreclosed upon choose personal bankruptcy or convey the real property to someone already in bankruptcy to effect delay. This tactic can garner them anywhere from 6 months to a year in a defaulted parcel of real property.
